Progressive Range

Progressives have indeed been a boon for those who need their vision to be balanced at all levels, from near to far, from central to peripheral, from static to dynamic. They allow for true clarity and comfort, providing large distance, intermediate and near areas, so all viewing needs for all activities are well met. ASAHI-LITE offers progressives with DAS technology, which has the added advantage of thinness and lightness, while maintaining a distortion-free appearance.

  • Progressive spectacle lenses, also called progressive addition lenses (PAL), no-line bifocals, or multifocal lenses.
  • Progressive lenses are worn for the correction of Presbyopia.
  • People using bifocal prefer progressive lenses because they give a more youthful appearance and are more functional. The lenses contain no visible line and progressively increase in strength as you move your eyes down the lenses.

Types Of Progressive Lenses


Standard Progressive Lenses

Standard progressive lenses gives wide reading area, but require a certain sized frame to allow enough vertical height to give a smooth transition from distance vision down to reading. Standard Progressive Lenses are always advisable and are best for the first time users.

Short Corridor Progressive Lenses

Short-corridor progressive lenses are designed to meet a specific combination of needs in order to fit into smaller designed frames. Experience shows that with short-corridor lens patients will be satisfied only if his/her frames are properly positioned on their faces. As Short corridor lenses have a smaller reading area and a smaller mid-distance area, they will always be a little less comfortable than a normal corridor lenses.
